Cortex is most useful when its limits are understood. This page collects product, quality, and interpretation limits.
Upload limits
Supported video types:
- MP4.
- QuickTime/MOV.
- WebM.
Maximum upload size is 1 GiB.
Uploads are verified after transfer. A file can be rejected if its type or size does not match the upload reservation.
Reference limits
Minimum signature build:
- 3 eligible winners.
- 3 eligible losers.
Minimum leave-one-out calibration:
- 4 eligible winners.
- 4 eligible losers.
Recommended for stronger confidence:
- More than 10 winners and 10 losers.
- Balanced winner and loser counts.
- Clean labels.
- Good event coverage.
- Few skipped elements.
- Weights that reduce noisy references.
Low-confidence results
Low-confidence results are directional. Treat a low-confidence scoring as a useful creative read, but not as the only input for high-stakes spend decisions.
Common causes:
- Small reference bank.
- Unbalanced winners and losers.
- Many skipped candidate elements.
- Few event-type signatures.
- Calibration skipped or insufficient.
Missing heatmap
A missing heatmap does not invalidate a scoring. Some scorings return numeric scores, playback-linked activity, element scores, network scores, and narrative without a heatmap artifact.
When the heatmap is missing, use the other result surfaces.
Skipped elements
An element can be skipped when it is too short or when the brand signature does not have enough comparable winner and loser examples for that event type.
Do not claim a skipped moment is good or bad based on the element score system. Use the visible creative context and other diagnostics instead.
Score comparability
Scores are most comparable within the same brand and signature generation. When a brand signature is rebuilt, future candidates are scored against a changed standard.
Use historical results carefully when the reference bank has changed substantially.
Business interpretation
Cortex predicts response patterns and compares them with your references. It does not guarantee platform delivery, auction costs, conversion rate, landing-page quality, offer competitiveness, or media buying performance.
Use Cortex to improve creative decisions before spend is committed. Combine it with platform testing and business metrics after launch.
